Neher at the California Institute of Technology designing non-leaking capacitators for recharging Cosmic Ray Balloon Electroscopes; early work at a number of institutions; work after World War II at Vanderbilt University and Oak Ridge National Laboratory on neutrinos and spectroscopy, and at Michigan State University where he continued his spectroscopy work.
